Global Time Attack Round 1 Recap: We had a pretty rough weekend with the car, we started on Saturday with a few problems leaving us with zero hot laps on day one. Day one sessions 1 & 2 we were chasing intermittent ignitions problems which we found out during session 3 when our exhaust camshaft sensor called it quits. Our friends at AutoTecknic was able to drive one up to us the that night and we were good to go for the start of day two. Day two session 1 started and we were gridded in the "slow group" due to our lap times from the previous day. With only enough time to get in 1 lap in that session due to a car catching on fire we were able to put down a 1:54 in traffic. We had good pace even with a completely new front end setup (aero/suspension) with zero test time on the suspension, day 2 started out looking good for us. Session 2 was at 12:20pm by then the ambient temp was somewhere around 104 deg. Our engine oil was overheating 1/2 way through our hot lap causing the engine to be down on power and putting the car into limp mode, not revving over 6000rpms. We did all we could building ducting to force all airflow through the oil cooler and icing everything down prior to session start but it did not help. By the end of the day we managed to limp the car to a 2nd place finish with a 1:54.1xx. It's not as fast as our time last year but with all the odds we had against us and nearly zero setup time we're happy with the results.
