Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Turner have Walter Hayes, at the time Vice President of public relations at Ford, to get support for the project. Hayes was earlier driving force for the development of the Ford GT40 that won Le Mans in 1966, as well as the Cosworth Dfv engine that brought Ford 154 victories and 12 World Championships in formula 1 in the 1960s and 1970s. Hays created the project, very attractive and promised their full support.
